Interesting facts about the action-packed ride

Up we go – to Adventure Mountain!

You’re already getting tingly with anticipation as you plop down on the toboggan, and then it’s time for action! The ride is 1.5 kilometres long – joyous laughter, fun and adventure included. 

  • total length: 1,523 m 
  • difference in altitude from start to finish: 233 metres 
  • starting point: mountain station on Adventure Mountain 
  • one- or two-person sleds for rent 
  • 16 moments of thrill (or in other words: 16 curves) 
  • closed on rainy days – for safety reasons 

The action-filled run from Wurbauerkogel’s mountain station into the valley has you swooshing through a total of 16 curves. But keep in mind: You’re in control of the brakes. So you’d better slow down one too many times rather than putting yourself (and your companion) in danger. Those who prefer a slower ride down the mountain can take the chairlift back to the valley. And remember: Two are better than one! That’s why, once you’ve made it to the end of the run, you should hop on the chairlift right away and go back up the start – to experience the fun all over again. 

Conditions of use

 for the summer toboggan run:

  • Children aged 4 or older are permitted on the summer toboggan run. 
  • Children from 4 to 8 years must be accompanied by a person aged 16 or older. 
  • Children from 8 to 10 years must be accompanied by a person aged 10 or older. 
  • Prior reservations are not required.

How to get to the summer toboggan run

Your journey to adventure-filled joy

The summer toboggan run on Wurbauerkogel is located at the town centre of Windischgarsten in Upper Austria. When you arrive at the valley station of Adventure Mountain, you should park your car at the signposted and free-of-charge car park. Then take the chairlift up to the starting point! 

Tips and tricks for summer tobogganing:

  • The summer toboggan run on Wurbauerkogel is open from May to October during the operating hours of the chairlift.
  • For safety reasons, the summer toboggan run is only open in dry weather conditions. This means: As soon as it starts raining, all tobogganing operations are stopped. 
  • Tip for all selfie fans: Put your smartphone in your pocket, so you don’t lose it during the speedy ride! 
  • Even the most ambitious tobogganing enthusiasts deserve a break from time to time. The most enjoyable way to recharge your batteries is at Bergrestaurant Wurbauerkogel or at the inns in Windischgarsten’s town centre. 
  • With the Pyhrn-Priel-Card, you’ll receive the ride with the chairlift for free and get a discount on summer tobogganing.
